MOUNT OLIVE -- Thurston Allen Bell Sr., 64, died Saturday at Duplin General Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Geoffrey Carter officiating, after which the family will receive friends.
At other times, family and friends are welcome to the home of Melissa and Carroll Cavenaugh, 523 Washboard Ave., Mount Olive.
Thurston was a retired truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beacher W. and Haidee Blizzard Bell; three brothers, Kenneth Bell, Horace Kornegay and Chester Kornegay; and a sister, Rachel Lee Pate.
He is survived by a daughter, Melissa B. Cavenaugh and husband, Carroll, of Mount Olive; a son, Thurston Allen Bell Jr. of Mount Olive; a brother, Jesse Bell and wife, Laura, of Mount Olive; three grandchildren, Brittney Herring and husband, Stephen, Laken Baker and Carmen Merritt; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Herring and Iasial Grady; and several nieces and nephews.
