Thelma Ruth Hill Adams, born May 13, 1944, in Eureka, N.C., went from labor to reward March 4, 2011, at 8:55 a.m.
She was the ninth child of the late Theadie Hill Sr. and Berneatha Hodges Hill.
She attended Eureka school, and was a 1962 honor graduate of Norwayne High School in Fremont, N.C.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Eureka, N.C., and Faith Temple No. 2 in Capital Heights, Md.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Minnie Hill Forte, Winnie Hill Spruill and Cleo Hill.
She leaves to cherish her well-spent life her husband of 26 years, Alex Adams; her children, Zelda and Neva (Mike) Sims; four grandchildren, Craig, Malik, Ashley and Maya; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Ethel Best; five sisters, Mrs. Ida B. Fleming, Alberta Blackmon, Queen Austin, Lucille Copeland, and Veronica (Donnie) Broadie of Eureka, N.C.; three brothers, Theadie (Crystal) Hill Jr. of Laurel, Md., Cleavon (Shirley) Hill of Washington, D.C., and James (Barbara) Hill of Edgewater, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Thelma McNeil and Maxine (Falas) Mobley; a brother in-law, Gary (Dana) White; 52 nieces and nephews, including Marcus Hill and Dwayne Hill; and a host of grandnieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Wake services will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church Eureka in Eureka, N.C.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at 11 a.m. at L.N. Forbes Tabernacle, 1800 Lane St. Ext., Wilson, N.C.
Pastor Fred Presley will be officiating, and Hamilton Funeral Home of Goldsboro, N.C., will be serving the family.
