Minister Katherine Marie Townsend, 63, of 611 S. Taylor St., Goldsboro, passed from this mortal sojourn Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro.
Her life and service to God and mankind will be celebrated Wednesday at noon at Greenleaf Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 2110 N. William St. Dr. William Barber will officiate. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest in the Wayne Memorial Park, South.
She was a lifetime member of Greenleaf Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
She was a faithful and dutiful member of the Goldsboro chapter of NAACP and member Diabetic Association.
Precious memories are treasured by her mother Helen Mitchell Towsend of Goldsboro; her siblings, Brenda Marshall, Harry Lee Towsend Jr., Tony Anthony Towsend, Cherry Lynn Towsend of Goldsboro; godchildren William Frazier, Keisha Frazier of Jersey City, N.J., Leonese Marshall of Greensboro.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 until 7 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, Goldsboro. The family will receive friends at 605 11th St., where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
