MR. ALONZO LEE SIMMS

LAGRANGE -- Mr. Alonzo Lee Simms , 57, lovingly known by his family and close friends as "Pee Wee," 183 Guinevere Lane, LaGrange, N.C., departed this life peacefully Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, N.C.
Alonzo was born Feb. 12, 1953, to the late Mr. Larry Sheilds and Mrs. Eula Mae Simms Johnson.
Truly Alonzo was an angel among us -- a gentle, loving, sensitive and compassionate soul. For his children and grandchildren, to know him was to love him.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at 12 noon at McIntyre Funeral Home and Florist, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C.
Also, a public viewing will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, from 10 a.m. to noon. Interment will follow in Old Mill Cemetery, 433 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, N.C.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories the children's mother, Mrs. Theresa Stephens of Goldsboro, N.C.; four children, Alonzo L. Stephens, Claudedarris R. Woods, Theresa C. Stephens and Vaierie D. Stephens; seven grandchildren, Dashawn L. Stephens, Alonzo L. Stephens, Jr., Brian T. Stephens, DaJah T. Stephens, Brianna V. Stephens, Brianne V. Stephens and Jazmine S. Stephens; sisters; brother; aunts; uncles; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
