Carrie Eunice Smith, 72, 1402 Catalpa St., died Friday at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Homegoing services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. James Disciples of Christ Church in Fremont.
Mrs. Smith was born in Wayne County on July 23, 1938, to the late Tommy and Carrie Armwood Best. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Lee Smith.
She is survived by three sons and one daughter.
Viewing will be held Monday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
