PAULINE M. McCLENNY

Pauline Morales McClenny, 76, passed away on Monday evening at the home of her daughter in Chapel Hill surrounded by her family.

A service to remember Pauline will be held Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at 2 p.m.at Adamsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Wiggins and the Rev. Ted Manby officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at their home.

Pauline loved the Lord, her family, her church and her Sunday school class. She took special joy in and cherished deeply the many friendships she made throughout her life.

Her commitment to making her house a home filled with love and warmth never wavered and gave her great pleasure. She was a living testament and example of a loving wife and mother. This example, along with other life lessons she taught such as the proper treatment of others, accountability for one's own actions and most importantly to her the great value you place on loving, supporting and gathering your family together, shaped the lives of her children and will resonate with their children in the years to come. Pauline was devoted to her husband of 56 1/2 years. She loved him (as he loved her) with all her heart. It was a joyous occasion for both of them when the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their families visited.

Pauline always said, "When your children want to come home -- then you have a wonderful home."

Pauline was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. We will miss her very much especially her smile. But we will remember forever her warmth, her example and her loving heart.

She is survived by her husband, Ellis McClenny; her daughter, Paula Pruitt and husband, David, of Chapel Hill; her sons, Douglas McClenny and wife, Pam, of Greensboro and John McClenny and wife, Kay, of Georgetown, Del.; five grandchildren, Heather Porter, Kyle McClenny, Ashley Loss, Zack Pruitt and Matthew Pruitt; and two great-grandchildren, Genevieve Porter and Lillian Loss. Pauline is also survived by her sisters, Ophelia Gonzalez of El Paso, Texas, Carmen Classy of San Antonio, Texas, and Candy Lewis of Dallas, Texas; and her brother, Henry Morales of San Antonio, Texas.

In closing her husband, children, family and friends take great comfort in knowing that Pauline now goes to a home that is well prepared to receive her. One that will provide her the grace, love, care and comfort that she so readily gave to others and now so gratefully receives as her own.

Memorials may be made to the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center (DUMC) at P.O. Box 3814, Durham, NC 27710.
