Jessie Black Jr. of Goldsboro, slipped into eternal rest on Dec. 21, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. at Durham Regional Hospital in Durham.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Life Cele-bration Chapel. After which, Mr. Black's earthen vessel, along with his cherished family will be escorted to Old Mill Cemetery for interment rites.
He was born June 13,1930, in Wayne County to the late Jessie Black Sr. and Laura Ann Barnes Black. He attended Central Heights High School and worked at General Industries until he retired.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories three daughters, Barbara Owens of Faison, Mary Core Swendell of Dudley, and April of Goldsboro; three sons, Jessie Clark Black of Almoeor, Mexico, William of New Haven, Conn., and Jack of Georgia; one brother, Percy Black of Goldsboro; several grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
A viewing will take place on Monday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
