WILLIAM I. "BILL" MILLARD

William I. "Bill" Millard, 78, passed away Thursday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Clarence Lee and Weasie Best Millard.
Bill was the retired plant manager for Ready Mix Concrete Co.
A service to celebrate his life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with pastor Tommy Moore officiating.
The family will receive friends following the funeral before his interment in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Smith Millard; daughter, Regina Smith and husband, Keith, of Goldsboro; son, William Gerald Millard of Raleigh; and sister, Esther Bryan of Dudley.
Bill was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister, Frances Walters.
Pallbearers will be Walter T. Bridgers, Dan Wallace, Tim Harris, Jimmy Alphin, Chris Block and Keith Smith.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534
The family wishes to express its thanks and appreciation for all acts of kindness shown to the family during Bill's sickness and death.
Due to the extended illness, the family respectfully requests that after the funeral and burial, they be given some quiet time at home for rest before receiving visitors.
