Hazel Marie Whitley, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010.
She was the daughter of the late John Reeves and Estelle Lane Reeves.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Whitley.
She is survived by three sons, J. Frank Best and wife, Pamela, of Pine Knoll Shores, Dan Best and wife, Kim, of Havelock and Larry Best and wife, Deanna, of Wendell; daughter, Susan Best Lamm of Wilson; stepdaughter, Charlotte Eatmon and husband, Chuck, of Wilson; grandchildren, Danny Best Jr., Brandon Best, Blake Lamm, Staci Best Holland, Ashley Best, Rebecca Best Humphrey, Jennifer Moore, Mallory Salter and Marcy Herbert; and great-grandchildren, Danny Best III, Cayden Humphrey, Aubrey Salter and Cullen Salter.
Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, with funeral to follow at 1 p.m. at Thomas-Yelverton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rudy Owens and dedicated friend, Mr. Marion Howell, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
