Ruby Jernigan Evans, 99, died Friday at Woodard's Care.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Ida Sue Bartlett Jernigan, and was married to the late Lonnie Evans.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Danny Johnson officiating. Committal services will follow the service at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Evans is survived by two daughters, Pearline Strickland of Goldsboro and Lottie J. Herring of LaGrange; a brother, John J. Jernigan Jr. of Goldsboro; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grand-children.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her sons, Lonnie Ralph Evans and Gene Autry Evans.
