FRANKLIN D. "JOHNNY" JOHNSON

Franklin Delano "Johnny" Johnson, 75, 169 Woodland Church Road, passed away Monday evening at his residence.
Born in Newtown, Mo., he was the son of the late Gordon and Iva Pauley Johnson, and brother of the late Bernard Johnson, Leonard Johnson, Roy Johnson Richard Johnson, Mary Alice Pickett, Olive Jones and Betty Richardson.
Johnny served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam, and received the Purple Heart and Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V. He retired as a gunnery sergeant, and then worked for Georgia-Pacific Corp. for 20 years. He was also a member of the Marine Corps Association.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel, with pastor Bill Rose and his grandson, pastor Joshua Narron, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Patricia M. Johnson; three sons, Larry Johnson, Michael Johnson and Tim Johnson all of Goldsboro; a daughter, Danette Narron of Goldsboro; two brothers, Gordon Eugene Johnson of Lucerne, Mo., and Bill Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren, Ashley Narron, Scott Johnson, Joshua Narron, Heather Johnson Williams, Elvis Anderson and Lisa Lane; 10 great-grandchildren, Allen Johnson, Cyerra Johnson, Lauren Narron, Olivia Narron, Christian Anderson, Logan Anderson, Matthew Lane, Paige Lane, Mason Lane and Haley Lane; his in-laws, Sheila and Don Howard of Louisa, Ky., and Larry and Patsy Mozingo of Goldsboro; his canine companion, "Scooter;" and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
Family members will greet friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times the family will be at the home.
