ELIZA 'PEGGY' HILL WARREN Oct. 19, 1928-Sept. 19, 2010

MOUNT OLIVE -- Eliza "Peggy" Hill Warren, 81, 102 E. Maple St. in Mount Olive, was born Oct. 19, 1928, to the late Johnny Hill and Pearl Hill in Mount Olive.

She transitioned into eternal rest Sept. 19, 2010, at Mount Olive Care and Rehabilita-tion Center.

Eliza joined St. James Church of Christ of Mount Olive at an early age. She was a member of the usher board, and served faithfully until her health declined.

She retired from Mt. Olive Pickle Co.

She married Joseph Warren Sr. in 1946, and seven children were born to this union.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law.

She was meek, mild-mannered and soft-spoken, and loved cooking on Sundays for her extended family.

She was preceded in death by two sons, John Robert Warren and Arthur Warren.

Loving memories will forever be etched in the hearts of many such as a loving husband of 64 years, deacon Joseph Warren Sr.; four sons, David Warren of Tampa , Fla., Dr. Joseph Warren Jr. (Linda) of Smithfield, N.C., James Warren (Linda) of Faison, N.C., and elder Ronald Warren (Angelene) of Goldsboro; N.C.; a daughter, Teresa Warren of the home; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Vivian (Joe) Pemberton of Mount Olive, Kay Battle of Petersburg, Va., Doris Jean Highsmith of Connecticut, N.H., Mary Magaliene Highsmith of Connecticut, N.H., Anne Marie Coleman of Lumberton, N.C., and Shirley Fennell of Garner, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A viewing for Mrs. Warren will take place Thursday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at St. James Church of Christ in Mount Olive.

Services celebrating the earthly journey of this great woman will begin at 1 p.m., after which Mrs. Warren's delicate temple, along with her cherished family, will be escorted to Carver Memorial Park for interment rites. For it is now, that Mrs. Warren has entered into those pearly gates, and she has put on her long white rob and gold slippers, and is rejoicing with the angels and praising God's holy name.
