MOUNT OLIVE -- Donna Hutsell Kornegay, 60, passed away Tuesday evening.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Hill and the Rev. Paul Rose officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home, and at other times at the residence at 441 Garner's Chapel Church Road, Mount Olive. Committal and burial will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Kornegay, a native of Houston, Mo., was an accounting clerk with recent employment being with Butterball of Mount Olive.
Being married to a military man, she spent many of their 32 years of marriage traveling with him to his various stationed assignments. Upon his retirement in 1995, they returned to North Carolina to make their home.
She is survived by her husband, Vance E. Kornegay of the home; two sons and their spouses, Richard Leon "Trey" Fisher and Krista of Marble Falls, Texas, and William Russell "Will" Kornegay and Allison of Mount Olive; two grandchildren, Seth Fisher and Love Kornegay; her mother, Norma Jean Hutsell of Houston, Mo.; two sons, David Hutsell and Dean Hutsell both of Houston, Mo.; three sisters, Delinda Landsdown of Houston, Mo., Diane Barnes of Tennessee Ridge, Tenn., and Debbie Hutsell of Waynesboro, Mo.; her mother-in-law, Christine Kornegay of Mount Olive; and other members of the William Kornegay family.
Donna was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Austin Ward Kornegay, and her father, William Hutsell.
