KING -- Mrs. Lenora P. "Grandma" Wheeler, 70, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Friday.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinnacle, with the Rev. Kevin Harris officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of her daughter, Karen Boles.
She was born in Wayne County to Elder William Gerald and Artie Florence Newsome Pate. Lenora loved spending time with family and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, fishing off the North Carolina coast and supporting her grandchildren's participation in West Stokes High School athletic programs.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a loving son-in-law, Ty Boles; a sister, Geraldine Pate Balance; and a brother, Dr. Billy Pate. She is survived by her husband, William Denny Wheeler Sr.; two children, Karen Wheeler Boles and Skeeter Wheeler; four grandchildren, Brock Wheeler, Lindsay Wheeler, Taylor Boles, and Dalton Boles; a loving daughter-in-law, Denise; one brother, Jim Pate and wife, Judy; a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the West Stokes Baseball Program, 1400 Priddy Road, King, NC 27021, Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2131 Volunteer Road, Pinnacle, NC 27043, or the Ty Boles Scholarship Fund, c/o Newbridge Bank, 647 S.
