JOAN A. CROGHAN
Joan A. Croghan passed away on Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
Joan was born in Bergen County, New Jersey on April 9, 1938 to the late Joseph Croghan and Helen Gallagher Croghan. She taught first grade for the Bergen City School System for 35 years before retiring 17 years ago. She volunteered her time at Wayne Memorial Hospital and St. Mary Roman Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S. presiding. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Joan is survived by her niece, Barbara Levers and husband James of New Egypt, New Jersey; her nephews, Michael Klahre and wife, Karen of Selma, Thomas Klahre of Orlando, Florida, and Douglas Klahre and wife, Jennifer of Wall, New Jersey; and two great-nephews, Troy Klahre and Zachary Levers; and great-niece, Leanne Bronson.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Croghan, Lucille Croghan and Loretta Klahre; and her brother, Father Joseph Croghan, M.M.
In lieu of flowers, mass cards and memorials may be made to St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 1000 N. Jefferson Avenue, Goldsboro, NC 27530 or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
A wake service will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a time of visitation until 9:00 p.m.
