CYRIEL G. SASSER
Died March 8, 2010
MOUNT OLIVE -- Cyriel Glenn "C. G." Sasser, 83, 923 Old Smith Chapel Road, died Monday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church, of which he was a long-time member, with the Rev. Frederick Dixon and the Rev. Vance Harrell officiating. Interment will be at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Sasser was a retired salesperson with Coble Dairy and he farmed in his earlier years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edith Barefoot Sasser of the home; four children and their spouses, Harold and Lisa Marie Sasser of Raleigh, Connie S. and Larry Tart of Dunn, Bruce Alex and Connie Pate Sasser of Raleigh and Doug Sasser of Goldsboro; a sister, Barbara Aman of Kinston; six grandchildren, Hannah Sasser, Logan Sasser, Renee Pittman, April Merritt, B. J. Sasser and Justin Sasser; and three great-grandchildren, Chandler Pittman, Sean Sasser and Alex Sasser.
Mr. Sasser was preceded in death by his parents, Leander and Callie Bryan Sasser, two sisters, and two brothers.
The Sasser family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Tyndall Funeral Home, and at other times at the residence.
