MOUNT OLIVE -- Alma Blackmon Foss, 85, 105 Westbrook St., died Monday morning at home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Shelia Price and the Rev. Ronnie Ezzell officiating. Visitation will immediately follow the service. At other times, friends and family are welcome to call at the home. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Faison Cemetery.
The widow of Walter James Foss and daughter of the late Lonnie A. and Bessie Smith Blackmon, she was a member of Mount Olive Church of God.
She was a former resident of Faison and was retired from Chas. F. Cates and Sons Inc. with 26 years of service in the houskeeeping department. She had also been an in-home caregiver.
Mrs. Foss is survived by a son, Nelson Ray Foss of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three daughters, Norma Nesbitt of Darlington, S.C., Juanita Starling and husband, Kenneth, of Turkey and Harriet Wheeler of the home; a brother, Lonnie Ashley Blackmon Jr. and wife, Mary, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Todd Nesbitt, Holly Nesbitt Price, Dwayne Foss and Daryle Foss; and eight great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Marceline, Audrey and Alice.
