PIKEVILLE -- Ida Boswell Lane, 81, passed away on Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held today at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. James Gurkins officiating. Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Pike Cemetery.
Ida was born in Wayne County on Dec. 25, 1928, to the late Simon Boswell and Mary Howell Boswell. She was married to the late Carl Lane. Ida will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to so many. She will be missed.
She is survived by her children, Melody L. Thomas and husband, Billy Ray Thomas, of Fremont, Samuel Lane and wife, Judy, of Mount Olive, Chris Lane of Pikeville, and Lisa L. Teachey and husband, Perry, of Goldsboro; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by children, Jerry Lane, Carla L. Sauls and Craig Lane; two sisters; and four brothers.
The family will receive friends today following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Melody and Billy Ray Thomas, 946 Faro Road, Fremont.
