RALEIGH -- Paul R. Meleney, 72, passed away Thursday.
A memorial celebration will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lakeside Lutheran Church, 2427 Eaton Ferry Road in Littleton.
Paul's life touched many people through his 26-year career in the poultry processing industry. He retired from Carolina Turkey in 1999.
Paul's love of the water brought him to Lake Gaston, where he and Delores have spent the last 10 years in retirement.
Paul's loving family included his five children, Valerie Tesch, Victoria Wilson, Mark Meleney, Michael Meleney and, J.T. Meleney; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Lakeside Lutheran Memorial Fund identified for the building fund.
