SILAS COLLINS

Silas Collins, 81, passed away at home on Friday surrounded by his loving family.
Graveside service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. David Cauley and Pastor Rufus Butner officiating and Jean Ackiss delivering the eulogy.
Silas was the son of the late William and Charity A. Collins.
He was retired from General Electric after 33 years service and served his country in the U.S. Army.
Silas is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 56 years, Frankie Anderson Collins; sons, Glenn and wife, Lynda, David and wife, Christy; and daughter, Robin C. Ingram; grandchildren, Jason and wife, Julie, Clay, Joshua, Kyndall, Mae and husband, Matt, and Melanie and husband, Josh; great-grandchildren, Jase, Sarah, Daniel and Emily. He is also survived by nephew, Roy Collins, special aunt, Lanie Collins Kennedy, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Julia Krebs and grandson, Silas Jonathan Collins.
The family was and is supported by a loving family and special friends.
The family will receive friends today from 6 until 8 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home in Goldsboro and other times at the home.
The family would like to thank the doctors, the nursing staff of the seventh floor at Wayne Memorial Hospital and the staff of 3HC.
