WILLIAM JR. "PEPSI" MORRISON
Aug. 14, 1949-Oct. 27, 2009
Very suddenly Tuesday morning, Almighty God, in his infinite wisdom, opened the gates of heaven quietly and peacefully welcomed our loved one, William Jr. Morrison, "Pepsi" as he was affectionately known and called by family and friends alike.
Celebration of life services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at New Spirit Ministries, 1501 N. William St., with the Rev. Dorothy McDaniel officiating. He will be laid to rest at Old Mill Cemetery Goldsboro.
He was born in Wayne County Aug. 14, 1949, to the late Essie Pearl Oates Morrison and William Morrison Sr.
He received his education in the Duplin County School system.
Pepsi was a truck driver during his early adult life and was a lover of horses, hunting, fishing and gardening. Those of us who knew and loved Pepsi would describe him as patient, kind, knowledgeable and generous. He had a serious side and he had a fine sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children, Alicia Armwood of Goldsboro and Anthony McCullen of Wilmington; one sister, Diann Morrison Melvin (Wilbert); a special friend and companion, Bernestine Armwood; special nieces, Linda Morrison Durham and Niki Morrison; special nephews, Danny Ray Melvin and Curtis Lee Melvin; and numerous cousins, family and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations Goldsboro.
Mr. Morrison's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home and Cremations Inc., where the Morrison family is receiving caring and compassionate service.
