Died Sept. 22, 2009
Leander Jones Sr., 82, 400 Olive St., was summoned by the Lord to eternal rest Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Eulogistic services will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rouse's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in LaGrange, with apostle Bobby Kittrell officiating. His mortal frame will be laid to rest in Old Mill Cemetery.
His memory, a sacred trust, will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Mary Louise Jones of the home; his children, Milton Jones, Cynthia Jarman, Ingrid Lemons, Leander Jones Jr., Gwendolyn Jones, Michael Jones, Teresa Jones, Carrie (Jones) Brown, Andrea Jones, Ronnie Jones and Cheryl Jones-Edwards; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries of Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends at the residence where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
