Betty Barnes Green Lee, 83, of 1693 Old Mount Olive Highway, Dudley, peacefully slipped away into the arms of her waiting Lord Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The service of triumph and celebration will be held Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at Bear Creek Mission-ary Bap-tist Associ-ation Headquarters. She will be laid to rest at Wayne Memorial Park.
She leaves to cherish their memories of her love and devotion a son, Charles Ray Green (Grace) of Philadel-phia, Pa.; four daughters, Betty G. Powell of Grant-ham, Dolly G. Marshall (Paul) of Auburn, Ala., Juanita Green of Wilming-ton, and Peggy G. Beeler (William) of Dudley; three stepsons, Morris D. Lee (Dora) of Nashville, Tenn., Robert L. (Colleen) Lee of Ledyard, Conn., and William T. Lee Jr. (Roxanne) of Avondale, Ariz.; and three stepdaughters, Bessie Edna Carter of Baltimore, Md., Brenda Lofton (John) of Durham, and Carrie Juanita Barnes of Charlotte; three brothers and eight sisters, Ben Barnes (deceased) of Trenton, N.J., Harvey (Buck) Barnes (deceased) of Kinston, and Howard (Bobby) Barnes (deceased) of Charlotte, Georgianna Williams of Wilson, Bessie Arrington of Trenton, N.J., Effie Arrington of Trenton, N.J., Loumiza Dowdell of Trenton, N.J., Catherine Robinson of Philadelphia, Pa., Sharifa El Bedawi of Delaware, Yvonne Jones (deceased) of Goldsboro, and Joyce Staton Deans of Wilson; 40 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; one aunt; a special caretaker, Jane Brown, of Goldsboro; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends; and two special canine friends, Yoda and Cocoa.
Visitation will be Monday from 3:30 until 6 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence, where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
