CHARLOTTE -- Michael Cedric Fox, 51, of Charlotte, formerly of Mount Olive, died Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Payne Temple AME Zion Church in Mount Olive. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 6 until 9 p.m., at Garris Funeral Home Chapel.
Michael was the son of the late Carl L. and Rachel E. Duncan Fox of Mount Olive. His sister, Dr. Janice Fox, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his brother, Carl R. Fox of Chapel Hill; sister, Angela Fox of Mount Olive; sister-in-law, Valerie Stafford Fox of Chapel Hill; maternal uncle, George (Jessie) Duncan of Brooklyn, N.Y.; aunt, Veresla Louise Duncan of Brooklyn, N.Y.; the members of the Clinton, S.C., family reunion, the Fox/Speight/Darden families of Greene County; many, many friends, co-workers and musical associates.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Michael Fox Memorial Fund, c/o Angela Fox, P.O. Box 383, Mount Olive, NC 28365.
