EDNA L. OAKLEY

DUDLEY -- Edna Lewis Jones Oakley, 75, passed away on Thursday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held today at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Turner officiating. Interment will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Edna was born in Duplin County on Jan. 19, 1934 to the late John William Lewis Jr. and Millie Thompson Lewis. She worked for many years as a seamstress. Edna will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.
Edna is survived by her husband, Andrew Oakley; her son, Jack A. Jones and wife, Jeanne, of Sleepy Creek; her daughters, Connie J. Myers and husband, Gerald, of Pikeville and Lynn J. Langley and husband, Jerry, of Pikeville; her grandchildren, Shannon Booth and husband, Jeff, Curt Myers, Brandon Jones and wife, Amy Jo, Matthew Langley and wife, Christie, and Aaron Jones; and her great-grandchildren, Austin Booth, Carleigh Myers and Parker Jones. She is also survived by her sisters, Ruth L. Gautier of Goldsboro and Hazel L. Lambert of Clinton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Rudy X. Jones; her brothers, Cecil Lewis and Graham Lewis; and her sister, Rachel Lewis.
The family will greet friends today following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Gerald Myers, 115 Goodnite St., Pikeville.
