HUGH M. "MIKE" TILTON
June 8, 1948-April 17, 2009
Hugh Michael "Mike" Tilton, 60, died April 17 at Mount Olive Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Thomas P. Norris, O.S.F.S., presiding. In case of inclement weather, services will be held in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Born in Cut Bank, Mont., he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Vivian Gaffaney Tilton.
He moved to North Carolina with his family in 1957.
An avid animal lover, he was also a dedicated North Carolina Tarheel fan. A graduate of East Carolina University, he was a veteran of the North Carolina National Guard and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
Mike was a humble, kind, and generous person. He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Tilton is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Kathy Tilton of Great Falls, Mont.
