PIKEVILLE -- Jean Davis Jones, 81, died Tuesday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in the mausoleum chapel at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jeff Daw officiating.
Jean was born in Wayne County Jan. 14, 1928, to the late Clemon Garrie Davis and Nellie Mae Deans Davis. She was married to the late James Carl Jones.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Geneva Bacik and husband, Tom, of Leland, Joyce Satterfield and husband, Norwood, of Pikeville and Diane Daw and husband, Marvin Ray, of Goldsboro; her sisters, Helen Wiggins of New Bern and Peggy Walker of Goldsboro; her brother, Junior Davis of Kenly; six grandchildren, Channing Stott, Allyson Stott, Nicki Thigpen, Jeff Daw, Christie Littleton and Melissa Carlsson; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lighthouse Worship Center Building Fund, P.O. Box 433, Rocky Point, N.C., 28457.
The family will receive friends at 300 N.E. Railroad St., Pikeville.
Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
