James Percell, 93, of 29 Mars St., Petersburg, Va., died Friday at The Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation of Goldsboro.
The funeral will be Tuesday at noon at Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Petersburg. The Rev. Dr. Wesley K. McLaughlin will officiate. Burial will follow in Dinwiddie Memorial Park, Dinwiddie County, Va.
He was a native of Duplin County, the son of the late Henry and Caroline Pearsall. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Davis Percell.
He retired from the Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corp. and was a member of the Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Petersburg.
He was also a member of Mount Nebo Lodge 43.
The viewing will be today at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., from 2 to 6 p.m.
He is survived by sister, Ethel Fennell of Philadelphia; five nieces, Annie Sellers of Petersburg, Cora L. Pearsall of Goldsboro, Carrie P. Kornegay of Dudley, Shelan R. Owens of New York, N.Y., Jennifer Batson of New York, N.Y.; 11 nephews, Edward Davis and his wife, Yonnie, of Goldsboro, Donald Davis and his wife, Christine, of Goldsboro, C. Earl Davis and his wife, Bernetta, of Goldsboro, Charles Davis and his wife, Ezzie, of Seven Springs, Devon Fennell, of Phoenix, Ariz., Frank Davis of Chesapeake, Va., Willie D. Pearsall of Mount Olive, Sammie W. Pearsall of Goldsboro, Nelson C. Pearsall of Dudley, Johnnie A. Pearsall of Richmond, Va., Curtis L. Pearsall of Richmond; several great nieces and great nephews; and a devoted neighbor, Mrs. Lizzie White of Petersburg.
Arrangements are being handled by McIntyre Funeral Ministries in Goldsboro, and William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home, Inc. in Petersburg.
