MARY F. LOFTON

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Mary Fields Lofton, 85, 1434 Pineview Cemetery Road, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church in Seven Springs. The Rev. Anthony Davis will officiate. Entombment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Ms. Lofton was born in Lenoir County. She was a member of Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church where she served as mother of the church and an usher. She was retired from the Wayne County Public School System.
She is survived by her husband, King Manuel Lofton; three sons, Joseph Britton and his wife, Cladye, of Goldsboro, Jimmie Fields Sr. and his wife, Edna, of Greensboro and Eddie Fields of the home; three daughters, Shirley Bond and her husband, Thomas, of Dudley, Delores Napper of Seven Springs and Bertha Fields of Garner; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eddie Fields Sr. and two daughters, Doreatha Brewington and Evon Parker.
Viewing will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory, Goldsboro.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 92, Seven Springs, 28578.
