FAISON -- Joe W. Sampson 95, 2601 Highway 403, died Saturday at Sampson Regional Medical Center. He was born in Sampson County to the late James and Cora Ashford Sampson.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Burning Bush Holy Church with Elder Arto Pickett, officiating. Burial will follow in the Faison Community Cemetery.
He is survived by three daughters, Charlie Jennette Blount of Fayetteville, Brenda Faison of Lynchburg, Va., and Linda Suggs of Raleigh; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Garris Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
