THOMAS HARDEE SR.

Thomas Ray Hardee Sr., 84, died Friday. A native of Raleigh, he was the son of the late Hugh Paul and Ruby Branch Hardee. Mr. Hardee was a retired businessman and a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Clayton. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a flight engineer with the 22nd Bombardment Squadron of the Army Air Corp serving in China, India, and Burma. Mr. Hardee served his country with distinction and received two bronze star citations. He was also an avid pilot.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Don Stewart officiating.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mabel Lewis Hardee; a daughter, Carolyn H. Troutman and husband, Robert, of Sanford; a son, Thomas Hardee Jr. and wife Marcia of Raleigh; grandchildren, Meredith Troutman, of Raleigh, Emily Troutman, of Charleston, S.C., and Tyler Hardee, of Princeton; step-grandchildren, Ryan Sansbury, Natalie Paton, and Heather Lacy.
Memorials be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
The family will receive friends Sunday following the graveside service and at other times at the residence.
Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
