Elsie Whitley Baker Ritter, 85, formerly of Fremont died peacefully on Saturday. Funeral services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, Fremont.
She leaves to cherish her memories three sons, Hilton M. Whitley and wife, Faye, of Stantonsburg; Mack Baker and wife, Glenda, of Morehead City; the Rev. Roger Baker and wife, Diane, of King; a step-daughter, Ellen Sullivan and husband, Roy, of Williamsburg, Va.; two sisters, Mildred Batts and husband, George, of Wilson, and Jeanette Marlowe, of Rocky Mount; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mack D. Baker and second husband, Norwood Ritter; her parents, Douglas and Rosa Whitley; two sisters, Sally Ruth Williford and Nina Pearle Walston; four brothers, Edwin, Douglas, Donald, and Kirby Whitley; and one grandson, Mike Baker.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service and at other times the family will be at 6115 Holdens Cross Road, Stantonsburg.
