TILGHMON MOORE

LUCAMA -- Tilghmon Moore, 74, 307 East Oak St., died Tuesday at Wilson Medical Center.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont with the Rev. Jessie Horne officiating. Interment will follow at Eureka Cemetery.
He was born in Wilson County to the late Zeno and Lizzie Whitley Moore. Mr. Moore was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Moore; one son, Davey Wayne Moore and wife, Tammy, of Pikeville; five step-sons; three daughters, Betty Rose Johnston and husband, Richard, of LaGrange, JoAnn Walden and husband, J.C., of Sumerset, Ky., and Christy Louise Johnson and husband, Charles, of Rosewood; one brother, Zeno Moore of Stantonsburg; two sisters, Ila Gray Cox of Pikeville and Bonnie Strother of Raleigh; 11 grandchildren, Travis Jenkins, Chad Butts, Jennifer Williams, Valerie Farmer, Samantha Johnston, Tammy Moore, Brandy McMullen, Davey Moore, Gary Moore, Gene Moore, and Becky Clark; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Willie Tilghmon Moore; three brothers; and two sisters.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
