DUNNSVILLE, Va. -- James Henry Elliott, 66, formerly of Johnston County, died on Monday at MVC Hospital, Richmond, Va. He was born to the late Zorabelle Elliott. Mr. Elliott served his church and community well with music as a lead guitarist and was a self-employed truck driver for many years.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Walter Sanders Funeral Home Chapel, 302 S. Brightleaf Blvd., Smithfield, with Dr. David N. Atkinson, officiating. Viewing will be from 1 to 2 p.m. with burial in the Snead Cemetery, Devils Race Track Rd., Four Oaks.
He was survived by his wife, Edna Jeter Elliott; three children, Melissa, James, and Frank Elliott; three grandchildren; two brothers, Thell Elliott and Luby Atkins; five sisters, Shirley Frances Moore of Richmond, Va., Lois A. Lewis of Goldsboro, Annie M. Ward, of Dudley, Rachel Berry and Joyce Ann Braggs of Jackson.
