RACHEL M. CLIFTON

FAISON -- Rachel Martin Clifton, 85, 112 Hill St., died Wednesday at her residence.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Faison Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Scott officiating.
Born in Duplin County, Mrs. Clifton was the daughter of the late Bryant Martin and Johnnie Geneva Crow Martin and the widow of Paul Clifton. She was co-owner and operator of Warsaw Freezer Locker and Mount Olive Freezer Locker. She was a member of Faison Fire and Rescue Auxiliary and a former Faison town commissioner. She was a lieutenant junior grade in the Navy during World War II, serving as a postal clerk.
Three sisters, Clyde "Sis" Crouch, Clara Mac Casteen and Marietta Davis, and three brothers, Bill Martin, Frank Martin and Gene Martin, preceded her in death.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends tonight from 2 to 5 p.m. at the home, 112 Hill St., Faison.
