ANNIE KEARNEY

Annie Louise Baker Kearney of 1341 Old Smithfield Road, Goldsboro, died on Friday evening. She was the daughter of the late John Oscar Baker and Annie Lamm Franklin Baker. After her mother's death, she was reared by her stepmother, Gladys Young Baker, affectionately referred to as, "Mommee."
Mrs. Kearney was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Thomas Kearney Sr., and by her brother, John William Baker of Norfolk, Va. She is survived by two sons and a daughter, Herman Thomas Kearney Jr. and wife, Sue, of Raleigh, Mary Kathryn Bentley and husband, John, of Charlotte, and Stephen Watts Kearney, of Charlotte; one grandson, John Mark Bentley and wife, Laura; three great-grandchildren, Brianna, Colin and Carolyn, all of Charlotte.
Mrs. Kearney was born in Goldsboro and was a graduate of Goldsboro High School. She retired as a supervisor at the O'Berry Center of Cherry Hospital after 17 years of service. Mrs. Kearney was a member of Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. this evening at Seymour Funeral Home, 1300 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro. A funeral will be held at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. on Monday, with Rose Weeks officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Dale Cemetery.
