RALEIGH -- James Edward Bass, 65, 505-D Chris St., formerly of Mount Olive, died Wednesday at Wake Medical Center.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ernie Haskins officiating. Burial will be in Harry Martin Cemetery of Mount Olive.
A native of Wayne County, he was formerly employed by T.A. Loving Co., Wayne County Schools and Cherry Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lizzie Corine Bass.
He is survived by a son, Glenwood Bass of Goldsboro; two daughters, Lisa Marchelle Bass of Mount Olive and Linda Carol Bass of Goldsboro; a brother, George Bass of Dudley; three sisters, Geraldine Lowery of Philadelphia, Pa., and Shirley Faye Bass and Holland Whitfield of Dudley; and four grandchildren.
The viewing will be held today from 2 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.
The family will also receive friends at 3787-C U.S. 13 south.
