GARLAND ADCOX

Retired United States Army Master Sgt. Garland Allen Adcox, of the Rosewood community, died Thursday at Carrol Roberson Hospice Center in Fayetteville.
Mr. Adcox was born in Vance County to the late Harry Adcox and Lou Horton Adcox. He was married for 55 years to the late Margaret Robbins Adcox. Mr. Adcox retired from the United States Army with 24 years of service. After his honorable discharge, he worked for Diamond Glass in Royersford, Penn. for 16 years. He was a member of the Goldsboro Masonic Lodge #634 A.F. & A.M. and received his 32 degree in Allentown, Penn., and was currently a member of the Raleigh Caristy of Scottish Rte. Mr. Adcox was past patron of Spivey Ford Chapter #518 and Wayne Chapter # 322 of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of Rosewood First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Bostian officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Henderson with full military honors.
Mr. Adcox is survived by his son, John Robert Adcox of Iliamna, Ark.; two grandchildren, Deborah Renee Abujbara of Doha, Qatar and John Allen Adcox of Phoenix, Ariz.; and five great-granchildren, Deannie Adcox, Talon Adcox, Tevin Adcox, Tala Abujbara, and Amira Abujbara.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Adcox.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Rosewood First Baptist Church, 562 Hwy 581 S., Goldsboro, NC 27530.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
