Pikeville - Elizabeth J. "Jody" Kelly Davis, 50, of 103 N. Washington Street, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Davis was born in Chesterfield Co., S.C. She loved people and had a special place in her heart for children. She touched the lives of many in the Pikeville Community through her friendly personality, cheerful smile and dedicated work at St. Joseph United Methodist Church, as well as Kids and Company Day Care. Mrs. Davis was a devoted daughter to her mother, Joelyn "Essie" K. Walters of Cheraw, S.C. She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Newell Kelly.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Pikeville Cemetery. The Rev. Brian Huffman will officiate.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband of 32 years, Rick Davis; her daughter, Kelly Ann Davis of Concord; her son, W. Benjamin Davis and his fiancée, Nikki Norvell; and a grandson, Richard Chase Davis, all of Pikeville; a brother, Allen N. Kelly, Jr. and his wife, Elaine G. Kelly of Florence, S.C.; nephews and niece, Adam Newell Kelly, Johnny, and Heather.
The family suggests that memorials to be made to St. Joseph United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 43, Pikeville, NC 27863
The amily will receive friends and family Sunday from 2 until 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of St. Joseph United Methodist Church, 202 W. Church St., Pikeville and other times at the residence, 103 N. Washington St., Pikeville.
