KENLY -- Roy B. Mozingo, 94, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home of Princeton with the Rev. Tim Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery at Hephzibah Baptist Church.

Born Dec. 16, 1911, in Micro, he was a son of the late John Walter and Mattie Batten Mozingo and was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Daughtry Mozingo, May 3, 1992.

Mr. Mozingo attended Micro schools all his life until his family moved to a farm near Princeton and he was transferred during the middle of his senior year. He was graduated from Princeton High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill until the Depression hit and he returned back to the family farm. He was a lifetime member of Micro First Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and on numerous committees.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred Smith Mozingo of Wendell; son, R. Walton Mozingo and wife, Judy, of Suffolk, Va.; daughter, Shirley M. Banks and husband, Lee Wayne, of Winterville; step-daughter, Jean Thompson and husband, Felton, of Wendell; brother, John Paul Mozingo of Wilson; two sisters, Rose Worley and Audrey Worley of Princeton; four grandchildren, Keith Lee Banks and wife, Deena, of Greenville, Kristoffer S. Banks and wife, Melanie, of Creedmoor, Karen Mozingo Oliver of Greensboro and R. W. Mozingo II and wife, Laura ,of Topeka, Kan.; and 11 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, 27534, or Micro First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 130, Micro, 27555.
