VICTORVILLE, Calif. -- Berry Elvin Jones, 79, went to be with his Lord at Desert Valley Medical Center.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Desert View Funeral Home of Victorville.
Mr. Jones was born in Wayne County to the late Berry and Mattie Pierce Jones. He served his country in the Air Force and retired with more than 20 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Stephenson Jones; his daughter, Patricia Plawlers and husband, Ken, of Calif.; two sons, Stephen Jones and wife, Pat, of Iowa and James Jones and wife, Barbara, of Ariz.; seven sisters, Allene Harris, Nellie Ensico, Linda Jones, Brenda Jones and Hilda Gurley of Goldsboro, Myrtle Holland of Dudley and Vonnie Bailey of Kenly; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Jones of Goldsboro, and two sisters, Rachel Allen and Otena Quinn of Goldsboro.
