JUANITA H. PERKINS

LAURINBURG -- Juanita Herring Perkins, 79, Scotia Village, passed away Sept. 16, 2006.
A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at 20 p.m. at Laurinburg Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Neal Carter and the Rev. Elizabeth Forester officiating. A visitation will follow in the fellowship hall.
Mrs. Perkins was born in Wayne County March 3, 1927, a daughter of the late Marion Leslie and Mary Bizzell Herring. She was librarian in several schools in Scotland County before her retirement.
Visitation will also be held at Scotia Village Monday, Sept. 18 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Khan Vail Perkins; a daughter, Betty P. McGee of Laurinburg; a son, Isaac Thomas Perkins and his wife, Connie, of Rose Hill; grandchildren, Melissa M. Gleason and husband, Jack, of Gilbert, Ariz., Nancy M. Tucker and husband, Walter, of Sumter, S.C., Isaac Perkins and wife, Katherine, of Richmond, Va., and Jeremy Perkins of Rose Hill; two great-grandchildren, John C. Gleason and Kylie Tucker.
She is also survived by her brother, Steven Leslie Herring and his wife, Christine, of Grantham, and special friends LaVona Hyatt and Phil McGee.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Christine Herring.
