LUCILLE E. TYSON

Mrs. Lucille Edwards Tyson, 78, of 104 Courtland Place, died Tuesday at the Brian Center.
Mrs. Tyson was born in Wayne County to the late Mark S. Edwards and Nellie Lang-ley Edwards. She was married to the late Rev. Aaron Tyson. Mrs. Tyson was a retired school teacher having taught in Robeson County, Cumberland County, Harnett County, Vance County and Wayne County. She was a member of Beston United Methodist Church. Throughout her life she served the Lord in many ways. Her hospitality was legendary. A wonderful hostess and cook, untold numbers of family and friends sat at her table for delicious meals and conversation. She was well known for the parties she threw for her nieces and nephews. She also had a "crafty" side throughout the years.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sherman Guthrie and Rev. Virgil Whitehurst officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Tyson is survived by her children, Bill Tyson and wife, Frances of Angier and Nell Davis and husband, Glen of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Justin and Taylor Davis and Angela Tyson; her sisters, Evelyn Carlyle of LaGrange and Joann Gray and husband, Bud of LaGrange; and her brother, Issac Edwards and wife, Jean of LaGrange.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Earl Edwards.

The family will receive friends Friday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Nell and Glen Davis, 116 Cassedale Drive, Goldsboro.
