WILLIAM HILL

William Vance Hill, 82, of 1266 Corbett Hill Road, went to be with his Lord on Saturday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mr.. Hill was born in Wayne County to the late William G. Hill and Inez Hollamon Hill. He was a retired farmer in the Grantham Community and served in the 4th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during World War II. While serving his country, he was stationed in Germany, Belgium, France and England. Mr. Hill was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Farm Bureau. He was a member of Eureka Christian Church.
A service to celebrate his life will be 6 p.m. today at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Frank Purvis and Charles Heath officiating. Interment will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Hill was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 61 years, Virginia Britt Hill; his daughters, Jennifer H. Hartley and her husband, Jessie, and Sherrie H. Davis and her husband, Rex, of Goldsboro; his son, Donnie Hill and his wife, Faye, of Mount Olive; his grandchildren, Chad Davis and his wife, Jenny, Jackie O'Quinn and Stacy O'Quinn and his wife, Dawn, and their children, Alexis and Edgar; his brother, Curtis Hill of Goldsboro; and his sisters, Margaret Pipkin of Wake Forest and Jean Thornton of Garner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Faye Hill; his grandson, Jason Ray Davis; and his brothers, Wendell Hill, A. T. Hill and Cecil Hill.

The family would like to give special thanks to all those who cared for Bill during his period of declining health. May God bless each of you in a very special way.
The family will greet friends Sunday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
