Jessie Ronald Fields, 74, of 932 Friendly Drive, died Friday at Pitt Memorial Hospital.
Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Samuel Woodard, and Irene Mitchell Fields.
He was retired with the Cherry/O'Berry Police Department and Wayne Community College Security, and a member of New Life Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. tomorrow at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Rick Mondale officiating. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Park.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Sandi Fields of Clewston, Fla.; daughter, Deborah Fields-Quinn of Auburn, Mass.; brother and sister-in-law, George and Jean Fields of Tampa, Fla., and Jane Fields of Goldsboro; and two grandchildren, Meghan Fields and Ash-Lee Fields-Quinn.
Family members will greet friends Monday evening following the services at the funeral home.
Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
