HORACE W. LENNON

TAYLORS, S.C. -- Horace W. Lennon, 87, husband of Pat Lennon, died Sunday at his home.
The funeral was held Wednesday at Hampton Park Baptist Church in Greenville, S.C., with full military honors including a 21-gun salute at the graveside.
Born in Delco April 22, 1919, he was the last surviving son of Quincy and Alice Pridgen Lennon. He was a resident of Goldsboro from 1971 to 1984 while working at Goldsboro Christian Schools.
He was a decorated soldier from World War II serving in the Sixth Armored Division of Patton's forces in the European Theater, which liberated Buchenwald Prison Camp.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pat Lennon; six children, Sherry Webb, Kaaren Anderson, Warren Lennon, June Lennon, Mary Koch and Martha Long; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
