BARDIN BUNN JR.

Bardin Jefferson "B.J." Bunn Jr., 79, of 6176 Highway 42 West, died Thursday at Wilson Medical Center.
Mr. Bunn was a retired refrigeration supervisor with Hackney Brothers and served his country honorably with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and Marsh Swamp Freewill Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Bardin J. Bunn Sr. and Ethel Fulghum Bunn.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 2:30 p.m. at Marsh Swamp Freewill Baptist Church by the Rev. Ray Wells and the Rev. Roney Bunn. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Velma Hill Bunn; daughters, Susan B. Lucas and husband, Phil, of Wilson, Sandra B. Lucas and husband, Mike, of Nashville, Sherry B. Gardner and husband, Carlo, of Pikeville and Betty B. Davis and husband, Ricky, of Sims; sister, Irene B. Dunn and husband, Bob, of Lilburn, Ga.; grandchildren, Rhonda Harrington and husband, Jim, Bert Boswell and wife, Kristen, Jeff Elliott, Zack Elliott, Michael Thorne and Matthew Davis; step-grandsons, Blair Lucas and Justin Gardner; step-granddaughter, Christy Gardner; and twin great-granddaughters, Hailey and Hannah Harrington.
Flowers are welcome, but memorial donations may be made to Marsh Swamp FWB Church, 6664 Rock Ridge School Road, Wilson, N.C. 27893 or to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation was held Saturday at Shingleton Funeral Home.
