Mary Ellen Smith Creech Mitchell, 78, of 1205 Crisp St., died today at the Brian Center.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. McGee Creech officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in Wayne County to the late Jiles and Mary Smith and was the widow of Thomas Creech. She retired from Wachovia Bank and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Mitchell; two sons, Tony Creech and wife, Faye, of Raleigh and Woody Creech and wife, Beth, of Pikeville; her stepchildren, Fred Mitchell, and wife, Elizabeth, of Goldsboro and Pete Mitchell and wife, Emmy, of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Mandy Church, Brandon Creech, Eric Brady, Matthew Creech, Corey Creech and Scott Smith; her step-grandchildren, Brock Mitchell, Sallie Whal, Caroline Mitchell, Maryanna Mitchell, and Collin Mitchell; and her great-grandchildren, Molly Church and Carter Church.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Woody and Beth Creech, 433 Hinnant Road, Pikeville.
Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 1882 Hood Swamp Road, LaGrange, N.C., 28551.
