DONALD HARPER

Donald Glenwood Harper, 77, husband of former Goldsboro resident Dorothy "Dottie" Bunch Harper, died Monday at their home in Pinehurst.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Southern Pines. Dr. David Helms and Rodney Bunch will officiate.
Mr. Harper was born in Lynchburg, Va., to the late John and Pearl Seamster Harper, he served in the Unites States Navy during W.W.II. He was a member of the Southern Pines Elks Lodge and First Baptist Church of Southern Pines. An avid golfer, he worked at Pinehurst No. 7.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Harper is survived by two sons, Donald Patrick Harper of San Francisco, Calif., and Steven Harper of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Rebecca H. Crawford of Anaheim, Calif.; three stepsons: Velton Ray Bunch of Beverly Hills, Calif., Steve Bunch of Clearwater, Fla., and Rodney Bunch of Vienna, Austria; his stepdaughter, Bess Albert of Raleigh; and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, N.C., 28374; or to First Baptist Church of Southern Pines Building Fund, 200 New York Avenue, Southern Pines, N.C., 28387.
Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines is serving the family.
