KENLY - Cathy Barnes Davis Edgerton, 56, died Sunday at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
The funeral will be conducted today at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with the Rev. Terry Dennis and the Rev. Lloyd Hargis officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Kenly Cemetery.
Mrs. Edgerton was a Wilson County native and was the daughter of the late Fletcher Lee and Alma Rowena Holland Barnes and the widow of James Keith Davis. She was a member of the Branch Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Jackie Edgerton, one brother, Fletcher Barnes of Bennettsville, S.C.; and four sisters, Peggy Ferrell of Charlotte, Pattie Moore of Asheville, Margie Bass of Kenly and Bettie Shaffer of Sayre, Pa..
The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service this evening.
